Patricia Rodriguez

Patricia Rodriguez is a prominent Chicana artist and educator. Born in Marfa, Texas, Patricia became one of the leading muralists in the San Francisco area during the 1970s and was the creator and co-founder of the Mujeres Muralistas, the first Chicana women's mural collective in San Francisco. She is known for her beautifully crafted nichos, which address questions of spirituality, gender and Chicana identity. Her has had recent exhibitions at the Oakland Museum, The Jewish Museum, and Sonoma Valley Museum of Art. Patricia Rodriguez is currently serving as Gallery Director at the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts in San Francisco.
