Justin De Leon

Justin de Leon is a graduate from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena (1997). His photographs reveal the intriguing blend of cruelty and grace, and solemnity of the mystical rituals involved. He has exhibited his photographic work in different venues including Self Help Graphics, Los Angeles; Gallery 825, Los Angeles; The Perfect exposure Gallery, Los Angeles; Instituto Michoacano de Cultura, Michoacan Mexico; Galerķa de la Raza, San Francisco; and others. Justin de Leon was first introduced to photography through his work on documentary films. As an award winning documentary filmmaker, Justin used photography as a way to improve upon the visual qualities of his craft and eventually fell in love with the medium. Justin has traveled the world working in many different environments. From working with street kids in India, conflict zones in Northern Ireland, and in the largest slums of the Philippines; de Leon has always tried to capture and tell the story of those he's encountered. He is currently completing his Master of Arts.
