SF Noir Films Presents: "THE OTHER BARRIO"

Produced by: Louis F. Dematteis and Dante Betteo

Directed by: Dante Betteo

Staring: Richard Montoya, Veronica Valencia, Pearl Wong and Alejandro Murguia.

The City is changing…neighborhood-by-neighborhood, block-by-block, bar-by-bar --change with it or fight fire with fire.

As if ripped from today's headlines reporting fires, evictions and protests in the streets, "The Other Barrio" follows housing inspector Roberto Morales as he investigates the suspicious circumstances of a fatal fire in a residential hotel in San Francisco’s rapidly gentrifying Mission District and finds himself face to face with murder in the streets, corruption at City Hall and the mysterious Sofia Nido, a beautiful but dangerous flame from his past.

Based on a story by SF Poet Laureate Alejandro Murguia, this film noir takes viewers deep into neighborhoods seen on film, while addressing the timely issues of gentrification and displacement of low-income communities.
