Digital Mural Project: Sayuri Guzman

Wednesday, April 14, 2010 - Friday, May 14, 2010

This image documents a performance project produced in Santo Domingo. The project consisted of braiding the hair of sixteen women from both the Dominican Republic and Haití to evoke a ritual of solidarity and a metaphor of the racial, ethnic and historical interconnectedness that defy the political divide between the two countries.

The performance, TRENZADOS, was documented by photographer José Joga and  videographer José Pión.
